All Summer Session students must meet the following Health Requirements before joining the Stanford community:
Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR) - proof of vaccination or positive titers
- To meet the MMR proof of vaccination requirement, you must upload proof of two MMR vaccinations, spaced at least 28 days apart, the first of which must have occurred after your first birthday.
- If you are unable to find proof of vaccination, and do not want to be re-vaccinated, you may submit results from blood testing (i.e., antibody titers) that show laboratory evidence of protection against Measles, Mumps, and Rubella. The titer results must each be positive to meet the university’s requirements.
Get cleared for Tuberculosis (TB)
- Complete TB Screen questions online. Answers to the TB Screen questions are used to assess your risk for TB and are required of all students
- Some students may need to undergo testing and will be prompted to complete TB testing after answering the TB screen questions.
Tuberculosis Testing
This clearance item is required for any student who was prompted to submit a TB test result after completing the TB Screen form.
Which Test Is Right For Me?
- ·If you have never had a positive TB test, then you are required to perform an IGRA blood test, like a Quantiferon Gold or T-Spot and submit those lab results. DO NOT perform or submit negative PPD, TST, or Mantoux skin test results. They will not be accepted. All TB test results must be dated within 6 months of your Stanford start date. Please do not send older test results.
- To report your NEGATIVE TB blood test result, click the UPDATE button next to Tuberculosis Testing. There you can report the date of the blood test, select which test you performed, what the result was, and upload the lab report as proof.
- If you can show proof of a past positive TB test, then you can perform a chest x-ray and submit both the positive test and x-ray/radiology report. NO FILMS. All chest x-ray/radiology reports must be dated within the 6 months prior to your Stanford start date. Please do not send older reports.
- To report your POSITIVE TB blood test result, click the UPDATE button next to Tuberculosis Testing. There you can report the date of the blood test, select which test you performed, what the result was, and upload the lab report as proof.
- If you reported a positive TB test result, then you will find a Chest X-Ray compliance item on your list. Click the UPDATE button, report the date of the chest x-ray, what the result was, and upload the x-ray/radiology report as proof.
Note: Effective April 10, 2023, the university will no longer require - but continue to strongly recommend - COVID vaccinations and boosters.
All confirmed students with their Stanford ID numbers will be required to upload proof of full vaccination for MMR (or laboratory evidence of positive titers, if preferred)and complete a TB Screen online questionnaire to Vaden Health Services.
